Course Hadracha – Leadership Programme

RSY-Netzer's Course Hadracha is a two year leadership programme for School Years 11 & 12. It aims to train you to become a leader within RSY-Netzer, your Reform community and the wider Reform Movement. You will develop essential leadership skills, learning how to run activities and manage group dynamics.

Through interacting with some of the movement’s most experienced bogrim (graduates) you will challenge and deepen your Jewish literacy and identity. The course also provides opportunities to gain some real leadership experience through social activism in your local synagogue.  For example, organising a fun afternoon, a social action event, or a club activity for younger chanichim (participants)

What you get out of it?

Our carefully planned programme is designed to help you build your self-confidence and think about what it is that you value. Following successful completion of the course, you will be well equipped to work in any Jewish community and you may be invited to work on Shemesh, RSY-Netzer’s summer camp. The course will look good on your UCAS form as well as on your C.V.  and can also be used as part of the Skills or Community Service sections for the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award.

Course structure

The course consists of various events, including 1 national residential seminar called Machaneh Hadracha and a combination of regional residential shabbatonim (weekends) and workshops.

In order to graduate the course and become a leader in RSY-Netzer you will be required to plan and run sessions at your local Reform Synagogue or in the wider community. We will help provide these opportunities for you, and support you in running any events.

Dates

Machaneh Hadracha, the national seminar, will be from 19th-23rd December 2011 The dates for all other events in the course vary slightly depending on which region you live in.  To see a comprehensive list of the Course Hadracha 2011-12 dates please click here.
